Lot Essay

The Haarlem born Heeremans was a pupil of Caesar van Everdingen (1616/17-1678) and is mainly known for his many landscapes paintings. The present drawing is a rare example of his draughtsmanship and most likely depicts the town Katwijk aan Zee located on the North Sea.
