MARK OF NICHOLLS AND PLINCKE, ST PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1890
Rectangular, with rounded corners, the hinged cover applied with a cypher, the base further applied with the star of the order of St Andrew the First Called, enamelled distinctive collar of the regiment uniform, and Russian inscription 'From the comrades / [officers of the] Guard Egerski Regiment / 1878 1892', further inscribed with names of the officers of the regiment inside cover, with a paste-set thumb-piece, marked inside cover and base
