Lot Essay

Cecilia Green was Russell Flint's favourite model, and one who greatly shaped the latter part of his career. She sat for him hundreds of times between 1953 and 1966, fulfilling his ideas of the 'perfect' model he had long since sought. Her delicate beauty is here echoed by the elegant stem of the gladioli she holds.
