(Without blanks, occasional minor spotting or light soiling, last title with a small old repair.) Contemporary mottled calf, spines gilt in compartments, red morocco label, black morocco numbering piece with red morocco onlay, edges sprinkled red (extremities lightly rubbed).

Volume 1 priced in red and black pencil. Compiled by Crevenna's librarian Tommaso de Ocheda, this most bibliophile collection contained approximately 280 manuscripts and more than 1,500 incunables (as stated in the preface). Lot 68, accompanied by the only illustration of the catalogue, describes what is now known as the 49-line Mentelin Bible (GW 4203).
