QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The pebble is carved in the round with a monkey clinging onto the hinds of a recumbent horse, which exhales a vapour that extends and transforms into scrolls bearing a book on the horse back. The well polished stone is of a pale greenish-white tone.
