A YELLOW JADE 'LAOZI' PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved to one side with a figure riding a buffalo along a mountainous path followed by an attendant, all below a wutong tree with a three-character inscription carved in relief reading xiao you tian to the upper left corner. The reverse is carved with three scholars observing scrolls, seated below a pine tree, with a mountainous scene and a pavilion in the background. The stone is of an even pale yellow tone.
