Lot Essay

These panels are by Bernard Hesling (1905-1987), a British born painter who spent much of his life in Australia. He is most well know for his work as a muralist, producing large-scale works for Marcus Clark & Co department stores and Qantas Airlines. It is possibly that the panels could be Quantus advertising, alerting tourists to popular Australian pursuits.
