The bottle is lightly carved with the darker markings on one side to suggest a river landscape scene. The semi-translucent, soft beige-toned stone has a few, small, scattered, darker inclusions.

The Professor Marcel Van Eyck Collection of Chinese snuff bottles (1910-1933), acquired in Shanghai in 1965.
