DEUX STATUES DE GUANYIN ET SAMANTABHADRA EN BRONZE PARTIELLEMENT LAQUE
CHINE, DYNASTIE MING, XVIIEME SIECLE
Guanyin is seated astride the lion reclining on a tiered base cast with a pair of gnomes and lion to the front. One hand holds a flower while the other rests on the leg. His face displays a serene expression with downcast eyes and painted facial details. A large mandorla is placed behind and cast with five Buddha figures and Buddhist emblems. Samantabhadra is shown seated on an elephant reclining on a base cast with an elephant to the front and otherwise similarly executed.
