The vase is crisply moulded and carved in relief to the exterior with two ferocious five-clawed dragons amongst stylised scrolling clouds and flames, above a band of rocks jutting from waves. It is covered in an enamel of vibrant apple-green tone, extending to the interior of the neck. The base is impressed with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark.

Provenance
Acquired in China by the grandfather of the current owner in the early 20th century and thence by descent.
