Lot Essay

Compare the present lot to a similar dish in the Pusat Museum in Jakarta, illustrated by Abu Ridho in The World's Great Collection, Oriental Ceramics, Kodansha, 1982, vol. 3, pl. 50; and another from Bengkulu in Sumatra, in the same museum, illustrated ibid. no. 298. Also see a 15th century jar similarly decorated with flowers and leaves from south Sulawesi, illustrated ibid, no. 287.
