Lot Essay

This embroidered mirror closely relates to the work of Leonora Jenner. Not much is known about Mrs Jenner, but together with her husband Colonel Jenner, they lived at Avebury Manor, Wiltshire and set about bringing the house and gardens back to their former glory. There is a similar mirror at Avebury Manor that is now in the possession of the National Trust.
