Each campana form with egg-and-dart molded rim, supported on a circular fluted pedestal base, the sides with acanthus-capped handles and bacchanalian masks, further decorated with foliate grape vines, the square stands with mask-applied panels and engraved at the front with a coat-of-arms above a stepped plinth with foliate border, the urns marked under base; the stands marked on top and one with no . 468

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Henley impaling Fane for J.W. Henley (1793-1884), who married in 1816, Georgiana (d. 1864), daughter of John Fane. Henley was a member of Parliament for Oxfordshire from 1841-1878.
