the case modelled as a rock and flanked by a figure of Diana, with a bow and quiver to one side and a hunting horn to the top, issuing twisted glass rods simulating flowing water, on stepped base with musical and hunting trophy mount, with lanceolate leaf border and on acanthine feet, the dial with black-painted Roman chapters and engine-turned centre, signed A. CHAPPE A PARIS, moon hands, within foliate-cast bezel, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell, with repeat signature on the backplate -- 15½in.(40cm.) high
