A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL FIGURE OF A SEATED CAPARISONED ELEPHANT
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The body of the seated elephant is inlaid with gilt wires to imitate the wrinkled hide, and is richly ornamented with jeweled harness and trappings. The tail and tusks are gilded.
