Mostly engraved with crest of Godolphin below an earl's, duke's or marquess's coronet and sometimes within the Garter strap , the Osborne crest below marquess's or duke's coronet or in the case of the knives the cypher JM or initial M both with duke's coronet and comprising:- 15 Hanoverian pattern table spoons, some 1731, 11 Old English pattern table spoons by Eley, Fearn & Chawner, 1810; 42 Old English table forks (15 by Robert Peppin, 1818, 26 by Eley, Fearn & Chawner, mostly 1812, the rest 1810 and 1815 and one by Richard Crossley, 1798); 7 Hanoverian dessert forks 1774/1775 and four more top-marked 1815; 23 Old English teaspoons, mixed dates & makers; 3 Old English sauce ladles by Eley, Fearn & Chawner, a pair 1810 and one 1812; a fish slice by same makers, 1810; a pair of basting spoons and a soup ladle all by Richard Crossley, 1798; also 24 pistol-handled table knives with wavy edges and steel blades, mark of FH in rectangle and 12 more pistol-handled table knives with more conventional handles, with lion passant only
