AN UNUSUAL GREYISH-GREEN-GLAZED PORCELAIN BOTTLE
SUI-TANG DYNASTY (AD 581-907)
The broad-shouldered, globular body is surmounted by a ridge and band of eight upright petals at the base of a narrow, waisted neck that rises to a compressed globular mouth. The bottle is covered with a crackled, transparent glaze of greyish-green tone over a white slip that continues over the mouth rim and falls short of the solid foot.
