‘MOON JAR’
A white glazed moon jar
7 December 2009
Park Young-Sook (Seoul, Korea)
Covered with a translucent, thin pure white glaze that adheres beautifully to the clay, the large rounded curving profile porcelain jar is formed of two thrown parts joined at the belly, which recall similar ceramics made in 18th century Korea. When you look into the dark sky you are likely to see a moon that is not a perfect shape, yet is a pleasing shape. Park Young-Sook, 2006
