Each with Rouge Griotte marble top set within a pierced gallery, over a writing slide to one side and a spring-loaded drawer to another, the frieze cast with pierced foliage, on four tapering legs joined by a stretcher, one drawer stamped '3', the other '5'

An almost identical stand, or selette, is illustrated in C. Payne, François Linke: The Belle Epoque of French Furniture, Woodbridge, 2003, p. 53, pl. 44. An early work titled by Linke ‘pedestal Louis XVI acajou et bronzes doré’. A single example sold A Private Collection Volume I; Sotheby’s, New York, 26 October 2006, lot 60 ($13,200).
