A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF DHARMADHATUVAGISVARA
CAST QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The four-headed figure is well cast seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base, with the principal hands held in dharmacakra mudra in front of the chest, and remaining hands held in various mudra.

Lot Essay

A gilt-bronze figure with the same reign mark and mudras and holding attributes, identified by its incised inscription as Dharmadhatuvagisvara, is displayed at Fanhua Luo at the Forbidden City, illustrated in Statues in the Sanctuary of Buddhist Essence, (II), Beijing, 2013, p. 360, fig. 450.
