Lot Essay

With Audemars Piguet warranty dated February 2015, fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

Founded in 1875 by Jules Audemars and Edward-August Piguet, the Swiss manufacture known today as Audemars Piguet is one of the rare fine watch-making companies still held by the families of their founding partners.

Throughout the years, Audemars Piguet has been at the origin of some of the most complicated and sophisticated timepieces of the watch industry and has excelled at creating designs transcending fashions.

One of the firm's most popular successes has been to create the first luxury sport watch, the Royal Oak. Designed overnight in 1972 by the widely acclaimed designer Gérald Genta and later qualified as the masterpiece of his career, the Royal Oak secured a discerning and informed audience and became throughout the years the emblem of the manufacture as well as a true icon in the watch community.
