Lot Essay

The present plaque likely corresponds to a "slab" of 1872 by Solon entitled "Girls offering their hearts to Cupid" that is listed in among an inventory of Titled Pâte-sur-Pâte Ware by Solon. See J. Jones, Minton, The First Two Hundred Years of Design and Production, Shrewsbury, 1993, p. 338.
