Lot Essay

An unsigned pencil drawing by George Bullock at Tew Park, Great Tew Oxfordshire, and inscribed in his hand `Plan of a Stove in Dining Room and Oak Study', appears to confirm the attribution to Bullock of this distinctive design, first made in the exhibition catalogue, The Fashionable Fireplace, 1660-1840, Temple Newsam House 1985, p. 30, no. 22.
