A YELLOW-GLASS MANDARIN'S COURT NECKLACE, CHAOZHU
19TH CENTURY
The necklace is composed of 108 yellow glass beads divided by four larger beads, jiezhu, 'connecting beads'. The central jiezhu has a red ribbon leading to the beiyun, 'back cloud' which is weighed down by a pendant with a metal mount. There are three secondary pendants formed of 10 glass beads.
