A PALE CELADON JADE 'PRUNUS' VASE
JIAQING PERIOD (1796-1820)
Each side of the flattened pear-shaped vessel is boldly carved with a gnarled branch bearing prunus flowers. The neck is decorated with four tubular handles, and the rims of the mouth and foot are incised with stylised geometric borders. The stone is of a pale tone.

The collection of Count Eggert Christopher Knuth (1838-1874), acquired during his travels to Asia in 1862-63.
Acquired from Count Eggert Christopher Knuth's great, great grandson, Count Adam Christoffer Knuth (1973-), Knuthenborg Castle, Lolland, Denmark.
