A RARE RUSSET-SPLASHED BLACK-GLAZED VASE,
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The vase has a compressed globular body below a waisted cylindrical neck leading to a wide flaring mouth and is supported by a spreading foot. The body is covered overall in a rich black glaze with some russet-brown streaks and splashes.
