A FAMILLE ROSE BALUSTER VASE
EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The vase is finely decorated around the body with two scenes from Su wu mu yang depicting Su wu holding a staff gazing upwards beside two goats under a pine tree. The reverse depicts another version of Su wu, with an iron-red four-character Le Zian hui seal mark which may be translated as 'painted by Le Zian'. The base has another iron-red four-character seal mark, reading Ju ren tang zhi.
