EDO PERIOD, LATE 17TH CENTURY
Decorated in iron-red and gilt on underglaze blue with various shaped panels depicting birds and branches of plum blossom and tree peony, divided by bands of peony, the shoulder with lappets of stylised flowers and foliage, the domed cover surmounted with a karashishi [lion dog] finial
