Lot Essay

This lot is offered with a copy of the certificate by Dr. Klaus Ertz, Lingen, dated 5 November 1999, who inspected the original painting and dates this collaboration between Breughel II and Momper to circa 1630-34. Ertz points out that the composition is comparable in style to the late work of Joos de Momper and to the early work of Jan Breughel II.
