Lot Essay

The description of the contents of the set vary, as no complete example is known to have survived.
The Gamages 1906 catalogue and J.Wallis, Armies of the World lists the contents; J. Opie, The Great Book of Britains, indicates that he has not encountered a complete Set 132.
The make up of the set probably comprised individual set numbers being amalgamated together. The bracketed numbers indicated in the description are the number of items in each section. The total number of items contained in the set is 152; also included are 14 items not attributed to this set.
