DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is finely enamelled and gilt with the fengdeng, the 'Lanterns of Abundance', within four medallions divided by foral sprays reserved on a ruby-ground. The interior is painted in underglaze blue with four be-ribboned canopied flasks, surrounding a central medallion radiating four flowering plants alternating with insects suspending bejewelled ruyi-heads.
5 7/8 in. (14.8 cm.) diam.
