The front carved JAMES CARINGETON AND MARIE HIS WIFE WAS MARIED THE TENTH DAY OF MAYE 1667 above four geometrically-moulded panels decorated with raised bosses and with gouge-carved S motif within a scalloped edge, both to the lower frieze and in the space after the date
