Small 2° (310 x 210 mm). Lithographic title, 22 pp. Illustrated with a lithographic title-page and 6 hand-colored engraving plates with 8 illustrations. Contemporary light blue wrappers; modern blue cloth folding case. Provenance: Prince Karl of Prussia (1828-1885), grandson of King Frederick William III of Prussia (ink stamp on title).

One of five copies made, and the only one in private hands, of this exquisite work on mosaic glass. The other four being at Kansas, Leipzig, Strasbourg and the Bibliothèque Nationale. This copy is lacking the final uncolored plates (with figures 9-12), probably as issued. Minutoli was the tutor to Prince Karl of Prussia, whose father was the dedicatee. A proof copy dated 1815 is in the Corning Museum library which has only two plates, of which one is colored.
