3 volumes in 2, 8° (174 x 109mm). Roman type. Three title-pages in red and black with woodcut printer's device. (Early owner's signature in margins of titles of vols. 1 and 2 erased and patched, minor marginal tears to a few leaves). Contemporary, possibly Parisian dark reddish-brown calf gilt, covers with double gilt-rule borders, central oval consisting of leafy sprays, scrolls and a small cherub's head (center vacant), cornerpieces of intertwined leafy sprays and winged cherub's head (similar to that depicted in A. Hobson, Les Reliures la fanfare, p.38, fig.43), flat spines gilt to an overall pattern of leafy sprays with a small oval cartouche enclosing gilt-lettered title and six impressions of a small star tool, g.e. (rebacked, preserving original spines, corners a bit rubbed). Provenance: C.F.D. Massiot (signature on vols. 1 and 2 titlepages, partly effaced); Gueau (signature on vols. 1 and 2 titlepages); C.
