DORAN AGREES TO PUBLISH SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM AT $20,000 PER COPY
“The Publishers agree to accept commission of the Author to publish the said work in order to protect the copyright” and to print just ten copies “at a price of not less than Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) per copy.” Two copies would go to the Library of Congress to register the copyright; four to George Doran “for his own personal use.” And six copies to Lawrence “for his own personal use…In the event of of the Publishers selling one copy of the book they shall be entitled to deduct a commission of 10% for themselves and will also immediately cable the news of such sale to the Author’s Agent…”
