AN ENGLISH TRANSITIONAL RAPIER
MID-17TH CENTURY
With earlier 29 ½ in. (75 cm.) blade with latten-inlaid running wolf mark and marked 'ANO 1553' on each side, iron hilt encrusted with silver flower-heads, and later silver wire bound wooden grip; together with TWO SPANISH RAPIERS, 17th/18th century, one marked 'FABRICA DE TOLEDO' on the blade, with solid cup-hilt, the other marked 'CLEMENS ACLLICH SOLINGEN' on the blade (guard missing), the blades respectively 37 ½ in. (95 cm.) and 37 in. (94 cm.)
