The present example is a representative of the second series 1675. Characterized by big arrow tipped red 24 hours hand and black matte dial, these modifications were introduced to improve contrast and consequently readability. The transition between gloss dial and small arrow tip and the configuration here exemplified happens around the end of the 1960s and the very early 1970s. The present watch is stamped to the inside of the case back IV.68, and thus is among the earliest second series 1675. Another noteworthy feature is the black bezel, available on request and introduced around the same time as the inception of the second series. The black bezel renders the entire watch more somber and masculine, its looks vaguely approaching those of a Submariner reference 1665. Furthermore, the white on black calibration of the bezel provides optimal contrast and readability.
