Lot Essay

As a variant of the original Cartier Tank design that was launched in 1919, the Tank Cintrée was launched three years later in 1921. At the time it was admired for its thin and elegantly curved case that follow the lines of the wrist. This feature stems from the Tonneau line that was created by Cartier in 1906, while the lugs are recognizable from the original Tank design.
