Lot Essay

This third execution Autavia has garnered the nickname the “Mario Andretti Autavia” as the legendary driver wore a similar reference 3646 while racing in the 1960s. These early Autavias have beveled lugs and cases that are particularly sensitive to polishing.

The present example is remarkable for being preserved without polishing and with a rare second execution bezel in excellent condition with hour markers. It likely was some sort of transitional piece.

With collector interest in Heuers rising, the present watch offers collectors a rare opportunity to buy an unpolished and stunning "Andretti Autavia."
