A Chinese red lacquer bottle vase
carved with a cartouche depicting scholars at a table drinking tea before Immortals and attendants beside fences in gardens among wisteria and rockwork, the reverse with seated Immortals at conversation among rockwork and bamboo within ruyi head borders, all on a ground of scattered butterflies and phoenix among peonies and other flowers on a cell pattern ground within lappet shaped and key fret borders, on a black lacquer stand carved with further geometric patterns -- 20in. (50.8cm) high, Qianlong six character marks to vase and base and of the Period, (hole to one side of vase, two feet missing from base).
