Lot Essay

Compare the similar huan of slightly larger size (7.45 cm.) illustrated in A Catalogue of the National Palace Museum's Special Exhibition of Circular Jade, Taipei, 1995, p. 117, no. 72. See, also, the example that appears to be carved from similar yellowish jade, of slightly smaller size (5 cm.), in the collection of Dr. Ip Yee, illustrated in Chinese Jade Carving, Urban Council, Hong Kong, 1983, no. 99.
