The bowl is elegantly decorated on the exterior with bamboo shoots and leaves reserved against a ground of rich iron-red.

A similar pair of Qianlong-marked 'bamboo' bowls was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 1 June 2011, lot 3714. Other examples are illustrated by R.
