While the cornucopia aspect of the design of these wall-lights echoes a neo-classical aesthetic, the rich scrolling arms wrapped with acanthus surmounted by an urn, reflect the avant garde goût grec designs of the 1760s and 1770s produced by influential ornemanistes. The combination of the surmounting urn motif alongside the acanthus scrolls and foliage wrapped candle arms and nozzles recall the designs of Jean-Louis Prieur, Jean-Charles Delafosse or even the later work of Phillippe Caffieri.
