Adrien Jérôme Jollain, maître in 1763.
The present case was created by Adrien-Jérôme Jollain (maître 1763 d. 1788), was established in the cloister of St. John Lateran. He came from a family of clockmakers and specialized in clock cases. He served his apprenticeship as an ébéniste and was received as maître in August of 1763 and thereafter continued to specialize in creating clock cases. Jean-Baptiste Baillon maître horloger in 1727, was one of France's most celebrated clockmakers of the 18th century. He was one of the most prolific Parisian clock makers of the 18th century. In 1753 Berthoud describing his workshop as ‘the finest and richest Clock Shop’.
