Three titles with woodcut vignette (one hand-colored) L’Europe with engraved title and engraved dedication, 62 double-page engraved maps colored in outline by a contemporary hand (light dampstaining, some corners or margins renewed, and minor worming.) Contemporary calf (rebacked, most of old spine laid down).
Mixed edition of the complete collection of this quarter-sized atlas comprising: 17, 18, 12 and 15 double-page maps. Nicolas Sanson is considered to be the founder of French School of Geography.
