Engraved title with allegorical border, 97 maps (numbered 1 to 93 but not in numerical order, including a world map, and 4 maps of the continents), ALL COLORED BY A CONTEMPORARY HAND, and one engraved table. (A few soft creases at beginning, plate 16 shorter, plate 48 with marginal tear, minor marginal chipping to table.) Contemporary blue pebble-grain paper over boards, modern leather spine.
Atlas with beautifully hand-colored illustrated borders depicting views, portraits, landscapes, local dress and products, and descriptive text. 6 maps relate to the Americas. Many maps with the blind stamp of the publisher “A.C” or, alternatively, “B.C.” See Phillips Atlases 3000.
