Lot Essay

This poem, originally titled Al-kawakib al-durriya fi madh khayr al-bariya (Celestial Lights in Praise of the Best of Creation) is commonly known as Qasida al-Burda or Poem of the Mantle. The 160 verses are followed by a commentary by Ibn Marzuq.
