A PALE CELADON JADE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER
19TH CENTURY
The censer is carved and pierced with two fierce dragon-head handles with loose rings, the body is carved in relief with lotus blossoms on a leafy foliate scroll. The cover is similarly carved with a lotus scroll and surmounted with a Buddhist lion and cub finial. The censer is supported on three feet with Buddhist lion-head terminals. The base is carved with an apocryphal six-character Qianlong seal mark. The stone is of an even pale celadon tone with a few scattered grey inclusions and pale russet striations.
