MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH CENTURY
With an arrangement of open shelves, cupboards and drawers on shaped legs, decorated in gold and black lacquer with landscapes and flowers on a dark reddish-brown ground, bordered by geometric bands, peony and scrolling vine, the side panels with openwork, the back and sides with flower sprays, shaped metal fittings engraved with chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage
