A CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASE
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Of square section, the vase is cast with a bulbous bottom supported on a splayed foot, rising to a long, slightly tapering neck, finely enamelled against a bright turquoise ground on four sides with various flowers from the four seasons including lotus, chrysanthemum, prunus, gardenia and camellia, below grape vines on the neck and cloud scrolls around the foot. The gilt base is incised with an apocryphal Jingtai reign mark.
